Mountain bikers trooped to Filinvest City last October 3-4 and competed in a physically and mentally challenging Endurance Weekend held in the bike trails of Filinvest City in Alabang.

Participants of the Endurance Weekend had to choose from three categories of 6-hours, 12-hours, and the 24-hours bike challenge. Bikers had to traverse an estimated 5.5-kilometer bike trail and complete as many laps as possbile within their respective categories.

Over 200 local mountain bikers joined the round-the-clock race. Aside from the three time categories, participants in the 6 and 12 hour categories were subdivided into age categories of 29 & below, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 and above. An elite category was also put in to the 6 and 12-hour races. The 24-hour race was an open category. There were also relay teams that participated in the 12 and 24-hour categories.

The 24-hour race started at noon of Saturday. From the gun-start, bikers wasted no time as they pushed to their bike’s top speed in a downhill start on to the trails.
