Adamson escapes UE, inch closer to the second place spot

Needing a victory to improve their chances of a twice-to-beat-advantage, Adamson survives the upset conscious UE Red Warriors, 66-57. n Wednesday, in the UAAP 80 Men’s Basketball Tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.

UE kept the game close for the majority of the contest, showing everyone that they can indeed compete with the top teams of the league.

Alvin Pasaol continued his high-scoring ways as he exploded for 22 big points and grabbed 12 rebounds as well, proving that he is not just a one-dimensional player. However, he went scoreless during the fourth quarter.

UE struggled during the fourth, as they can only muster up 9 points during the payoff period, as the Falcons pulled away for the much-needed win.

Jerrick Ahanmisi led the way for the Falcons with 14 points. Papi Sarr scored 12 points and grabbed 15 rebounds while Sean Maganti chipped in 10 points.

With the win, Adamson remains in solo third place with a solid 6-3 record. They are just a game behind the current second placers, the De La Salle Green Archers, who are in 7-2, making the La Salle versus Adamson showdown this Saturday a very crucial match with Final Four placing implications.

Aside from Pasaol, Mark Olayon was the only one who finished in double-figures for the Warriors, as he scored 16 points.

UE falls down to 2-7, and are in danger of getting eliminated very soon.
