Adamson survives upset from UST

The Adamson Soaring Falcons avoided an upset as they defeated the UST Growling Tigers, 75-70 in a closer-than-expected battle on Wednesday in the UAAP 80 Men’s Basketball Tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.

With the win, Adamson improves to a 7-4 record.

It was a close game all through out, as UST played one of their best games of the season.

The Tigers are ahead as the 3rd canto ended, 49-48.

Jerrick Ahanmisi waxed hot during the payoff period, as the scored 11 points during the fourth quarter. UST just can’t finish the game strong, as they tasted another bitter defeat in a season full of disappointments.

Ahanmisi finished the game with a game-high 21 points, including 3 triples, while Papi Sarr scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the Falcons.

Reggie Basibas scored 17 points for the Tigers, Jeepy Faundo contributed 12 points and 12 rebounds while Steve Akomo chipped in 10 points and grabbed 17 rebounds.

UST is still winless in 11 games in the tournament.
