Courtesy of Thirdy Ravena, the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles defeated the University of the East Red Warriors, 83-65, in Sunday UAAP Season 80 action at the Mall of Asia arena in Pasay city.
The lanky forward Ravena fired 11 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter to douse any hopes of a UE comeback to go along with eight rebounds and two assists for the Eagles who finished the game strong as they pushed their once 10-point lead to as much as 24 points.
Matt Nieto chipped in with 11 points and three assists while Aaron Black contributed 10 markers.
For the Red Warriors, bruising guard Alvin Pasaol led his team by scoring 22 markers while Nick Abanto chipped in 10.
The win now gives Ateneo solo first place at the top of the standings with a 4-0 win-loss record and is the only remaining team without a loss.
The Red Warriors, on the other hand, drop down to 0-4.
