Ateneo pulled off the biggest escape of the season, as the Ateneo De Manila Blue Eagles eliminated the FEU Tamaraws in overtime, 88-84, thanks to the heroics of stretch big guy Isaac Go.
Down by 3 during the last few seconds of regulation, Isaac Go immortalized his name in Ateneo folklore, by making the eventual game tying three to force overtime, 75 all. And during the dying seconds of overtime, Isaac Go then made another clutch basket to seal a second straight finals trip for the Blue and White. Isaac Go now joins the likes of Gec Chia, Doug Kramer and even current teammate Matt Nieto, Blue Eagles who made the clutch baskets during the big games.
Thirdy Ravena top scored for the Blue Eagles with 17 points. Matt Nieto and Chiz Ikeh scored 16 points a-piece while Isaac Go finished with 13 points. Jasper Parker led the way for the Tamaraws with 19 points. Arvin Tolentino finished with 11 points, but he shot a miserable 3/10 from the field.
