Cignal Escapes Philips Gold in Five-Set Thriller

San Juan, Manila – Cignal HD Spikers continues it’s winning way after beating Philips Gold in a classic five-setter match, 15-25, 25-15, 25-17, 19-25, 16-14, Tuesday in the 2015 PSL Grand Prix Tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The HD Spikers who shocked the defending champions Petron last Saturday in the PSL opener is now on the top of the team standing with a 2-0 win-loss record.

Ariel Usher again leading the HD Spikers with a game-high 30 points with 27 attacks, 13 digs and 9 receptions and Cignal’s other American import Amanda Anderson also contributed 18 points.

Alexis Olgard led Philips Gold with 20 points, Bojana Todorovic had 18 markers and Myla Pablo chipped in 17 points for the Lady Slammers.

The Lady Slammers will try to bounce back against Meralco on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan and Cignal will be aiming to get it’s third win as they also face Meralco on saturday at the Cuneta Astrodome.
