UST remained competitive for the first three quarters, but collapsed during the payoff period, as the FEU Tamaraws defeated the UST Growling Tigers, 78-65. With the win, FEU improved to an even 2-2 record and UST falls down further to 0-4.
UST actually controlled the first half, thanks to the efforts of guys such as Jeepy Faundo, Regie Basibas and Carlos Escalambre. The first half ended, 36-31 in favor of UST. But FEU had other plans during the second half. Thanks to Arvin Tolentino and Japser Parker, FEU took control of the game during the third quarter. The third quarter ended, 49=48 in favor of the Tamaraws. And it was all FEU during the final period, as they outscored the Tigers, 29-17 in the fourth quarter.
Ron Dennison and Arvin Tolentino scored 15 points-a-piece for FEU. Jeepu Faundo led the way for UST with 16 markers while Jordan Sta Ana chipped in 11 points for the Tigers.
