The FEU Tamaraws dominated the Adamson Soaring Falcons, 71-54 to book the last remaining Final Four ticket. Needing a win to avoid a playoff with the dangerous UP Fighting Maroons, FEU was clearly the aggressor for this game, as this was a no-bearing game for Adamson, as they are already the third seed of the Final Four regardless of the outcome of this game.
Arvin Tolentino led the way for FEU with 14 points; Richard Escoto added 11 points while Prince Orizu chipped in 10 points. Robbie Manalang led the way for Adamson with 15 points while Papi Sarr chipped in 10 points.
The waiting game now begins for both teams, as they await the results of the La Salle-Ateneo game. If Ateneo beats La Salle, Ateneo automatically makes it to the Finals, then there will be a “step-ladder “format to determine the other finalist, but if La Salle beats Ateneo, we will have the traditional Final Four. In a stepladder format, FEU and Adamson will meet in a knockout game, with the winner facing second seed La Salle, with the Archers armed with a twice-to-beat advantage. If we go into a traditional Final Four format, Ateneo will face FEU while La Salle will battle Adamson, with Ateneo and La Salle enjoying a twice-to-beat advantage.
