In an after game press conference, FEU Coach Nash aired his thoughts on Kevin Ferrer’s explosion; his veteran Mike Tolomia’s misfiring; and the much-awaited winner-take-all on Wednesday.
On Kevin Ferrer:
The Tamaraw coach had only praises for Ferrer as the UST Star rolled 24 points on an explosive comeback in the third quarter alone.
“Kevin is a veteran. We’ve been together sa Sea Games and Gilas Cadet. We know what he’s capable of doing.”
Asked onto why they were not able to control hot-handed Ferrer, “it was bad for us na pumutok siya ng ganoon, I was waiting for him to miss, ‘di nangyari”.
He thinks the UST veteran’s Game 2 show just proved UAAP Season 78 MVP Kiefer Ravena’s decision to pick him as Co-MVP.
On Mike Tolomia’s off-game:
Coach Nash was questioned on his player rotation after having Mike Tolomia play the most minutes among his members but missed all attempted field goals and scored only 7, all coming from free-throws,
“I was waiting for him to get his game back”.
For him, the struggling of Tolomia is not a concern; assuming that if Mike was able to hit at least one three-pointer, it would have been a different ball game.
Do-or-die Game 3
Lastly, the back-to-back UAAP Finals contender coach is confident that his basketball team would definitely bounce back this Wednesday and take hold of the school’s 20th championship in the UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament.
