Foton Pilipinas starts the 2016 Asian Women’s Club Championship in a good note as it defeats the young Hong Kong Kwai Tsing squad, 25-20, 25-14, 25-10, Saturday at the Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna.

Jaja Santiago led Foton with 12 points and Jovelyn Gonzaga finished with 11 markers.

Foton started slow as they are down in the first set but managed to take the lead and get their strength from the crowd winning the first set.

The taller Foton take advantage of their height as the team never looked back and dominated the remaining set while imports Lindsay Stalzer and Ariel Usher sat down on the bench.

Cheung Man Lee scored 8 points and Kwok Pui Yui with 7 for Hong Kong who has now a 0-1 record.

Foton will be facing Vietnam at 2pm on Sunday and a win will automatically land them a slot in the quarterfinals.
