Manila, Philippines – The former UAAP Juniors MVP is now eligible to play for the Blue Eagles this season.
A good news to the Ateneo community that the prized guard can now help the Blue Eagles with their title contention this season.
Cani led the National University Bullpups last Season 76 sweeping the eliminations (16-0) and semifinals. The Bullpups defeated the Thirdy Ravena Blue Eaglets team in the finals where Cani won the finals MVP award.
The former juniors MVP was forced to sit out last season 77 to follow the UAAP residency rule because he did not get a release paper from NU.
After a year of waiting, Cani can now suit up for the Eagles as Presiden Aquino recently signed Senator Pia Cayetano’s RA 10676 law that scraps the UAAP 2-year residency rule.
Hubert Cani will be showcasing his skills against their first opponent the FEU Tamaraws on Sunday, September 6, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
