MANILA – Fresh from her stint in Laguna with the Foton Tornadoes earlier in the afternoon, Jaja Santiago rushed to the PhilSports Arena on Wednesday to catch the the semi-finals game of her collegiate team NU Lady Bulldogs in the 13th Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference.
As if the travel from two different game venues was not challenging enough, Santiago defied the odds and played in her personal double header for the day.
She led the Lady Bulldogs against the UP Lady Maroons in four sets, 21-25, 25-10, 27-25, 25-21.
The NU tower scored a whooping 26 points to lead all scorers in the game. She also helped the Lady Bulldogs dispose off the feisty Lady Maroons and enter in the tournament’s Finals.
Jorelle Singh and Aiko Urdas provided the steady support with 16 and 14 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, the trio of Nicole Tiamzon, Diana Carlos, and Isa Molde rallied for the Diliman-based squad with double-digit scoring, but the relentless attacks of the Lady Bulldogs were just too much for them.
NU now set-ups a rematch against their lone tormentor in the conference, the Ateneo Lady Eagles, for the SVL crown.
