Japan’s NEC Red Rockets wins Asian Women’s Club Championship against China

NEC Red Rockets defeats China’s Bayi Shenzheng and remain undefeated in the 2016 AVC Asian Women’s Club Championship, 25-23, 25-19,25-21, Sunday at the Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna.

Despite the height advantage of China, the Japanese squad take advantage of their speed with good combinations and floor defense.

Bayi Shenzheng started well in the third set leading Japan but the NEC Red Rockets managed to get the momentum and steal the set to win the game and the title.

Tournament MVP Sarina Koga finished the game with 16 points, while Mizuki Yanagita added 15 and Akari Oumi with 14 markers.

Yan Jun Jing top scored the Chinese squad with 15 and Liu Yan Han added 14 points.

Defending champions Bangkok Glass of Thailand finished third place after defeating Altay VC of Kazakhstan.
