The De La Salle Green Archers dominated the UE Red Warriors, 99-78, Wednesdayin the UAAP 80 Men’s Basketball Tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
La Salle started the game on fire, building an early 10-peat lead but Alvin Pasaol, making the game close as he scored 8 points during the 1st quarter alone but was then saddled with foul trouble
La Salle broke the game open as early as the second quarter, as UE had no answer for the offensive firepower of the Archers as the Taft-based squad building a 19 point lead to end the half.
It was the Santi Santillian show during the 3rd quarter, as he scored 10 points during the period.
The Archers did just enough during the final period, as La Salle was never threatened during the game.
Ben Mbala was in his usual dominant self as he scored 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while Santi Santilian provided quality minutes adding 14 points and 11 rebounds in just 17 minutes of play.
Ricci Rivero finished with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals and Justine Baltazar added 13 points with a perfect 6/6 shooting from the field.
With the win, The Archers goes up to a 9-2 record, officially clinching a Final Four slot.
Alvin Pasaol finished the game with 23 points and 9 rebounds and Mark Olayon had another all-around game with 18 points and 7 assists for the Warriors who now falls down to 3-8 record.
