MACTAN, Cebu – Despite their busy schedules attending to various showbiz commitments, a good number of celebrities will join over 2,600 triathletes competing this Sunday in the Cobra Ironman 70.3 race in Mactan, Cebu.
Heading the list are perennial perennial Cobra Ironman 70.3 participants Piolo Pascual, Paul Jake Castillo, Gretchen Fullido, Dyan Castillejo, Kim Atienza and Matteo Guidicelli.
Actor-singer Piolo Pascual is set to bike for Team Sunlife while TV news anchor Gretchen Fullido will swim for Team Gotta. Atienza, Castillejo, Castillo, and Guidicelli are set to join the full 70.3 triathlon event.
Adding spice to the list of celebrities who are set to join for the first time the 1.9K swim, 90K bike and 21K run event in Cebu are ABS-CBN’s triathlon themed television series ‘Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin’ stars Gerald Anderson, Jake Cuenca and Kim Chiu. Anderson and Cuenca will participate in the bike leg for their relay teams Derosa-Corsa. Chiu on the other hand will do the run for her team TRISIXFIVPH.
Another Cobra Ironman 70.3 first-timer is matinee actor and former UAAP swimming champion Enchong Dee, who will team up with Piolo Pascual as he is set to do the swim leg for Team Sunlife.
Meanwhile, Filipina actress and model Bubbles Paraiso and Samir “Sam YG” Gogna are set to join their second Cobra Ironman 70.3 race in Cebu. They competed as relay participants last year for their repective teams.
