LPU’s Ayaay winning basket shocks defending champions Letran

The LPU Pirates started the second round in the right tone as it upset the defending champions Letran with Jesper Ayaay’s clutch basket, 68-66 in the NCAA season 92nd basketball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

With the game knotted at 66-all, Ayaay drove past everyone and then witnessed McJour Luib misfired on a triple as the Pirates jumped into a three-way tie at No. 5 with the Knights and the Bombers with 5-5 marks.

Wilson Baltazar finished with a team-high 18 points and MJ Ayaay with 16 for the Pirates.

For Letran, Rey Nambatac scores 24 points and Jomar Sollano added 19 points for the Knights.
