Petron Blaze Spikers turned to their off-season recruits Mika Reyes and Carmela Tunay in disposing the Sta Lucia Lady Realtors in straight sets, 25-19, 25-19, 25-21 in the nightcap of the opening day of the Belo Philippine Superliga Invitational last Saturday at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Petron opened the game firing from all angles as they raced to a 2-0 lead without relinquishing the lead to the Lady Realtors, who are mostly comprised of NCAA’s Perpetual Help and College of St. Benilde standouts.

Determined to win a set, Sta Lucia turned to Lourdes Clemente and Janine Navarro in offense. But Petron was able to breakaway from an 18-all score and a Rhea Dimaculangan ace sealed the win for the Blaze Spikers.

Reyes and Tunay scored 9 points in their debut as Petron Blaze spikers while Ces Molina and Mina Aganon added eight and seven points respectively.

Lourdes Clemente led the Lady Realtors with 7 points while Jannine Navarro and Ranya Musa chipped in 6 points a piece.
