National University Lady Bulldogs is off to a promising start, sweeping the similarly struggling Adamson University Lady Falcons without giving away a single set 25-18, 25-12, 25 18 in the UAAP Season 78 Women’s Volleyball Tournament at San Juan Arena, March 6.
The Lady Bulldogs put an end to their three-game losing streak to start anew in the second round, improving their record to 4-4.
NU easily buried Adamson on double-digit difference on the second set, 22-9 earning easy points from errors. The Lady Falcons put little effort to retaliate with Mary Joy Dacoron and Captain Mylene Paat launching back-to-back kills before the Lady Bulldogs halted the set, 25-12.
Adamson managed to keep the game close on the start of the third set, tying the score at 9-9 but the Lady Bulldogs run away with a 5-point spurt, 16-11.
Jema Galanza and May Roque tried to catch-up for the Lady Falcons on the final stretch but their efforts were not enough to stop the high-spirited Lady Bulldogs. Jaja Santiago sunk the set point while a reception error from Adamson’s side sealed away NU’s comeback game.

No one of the Lady Falcons finished with double digits as they go down to rank seven with Paat listing nine markers.
