The Lady Bulldogs who had a rocky start this season improved to 7-6 giving them a final chance to climb to fourth spot with last match on April 13 against De La Salle University.

UST managed to grab first set, 19-25, but NU completely dominated the third and fourth set with a large margin, 25-11 and 25-16.

But the Tigresses are not willing to not hand the ticket down without a fight showing their tenacity on the fourth set with spiking duo EJ Laure and Cherry Rondina on the attack.

UST can’t seem to keep NU away until the final phase of the set with Rondina’s back-to-back kills followed by an attack error from NU, 19-24. Pablo’s serve went out of bounds to seal UST’s comeback and extend the game to another set, 21-25.

However, the Lady Bulldogs came back stronger to open the fifth set with a 6-0 lead and run away with the win to crush UST’s Final Four contention as they fell to 5-8.

Laure scored 18 points in a wasted effort for UST while Rondina listed 14 points.
