NU rides momentum to edge FEU in classic five set duel

MANILA – The mighty have fallen a few days ago, but they certainly flexed enough muscles to get back on the winning track.

The NU Lady Bulldogs scored their second consecutive win in the quarter-finals of the 13th Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference on Wednesday.

Just who fell prey for the Lady Bulldogs? Yet another powerhouse team – the FEU Lady Tamaraws.

The Lady Bulldogs gave the Lady Tamaraws their first taste of defeat this season via a five set victory, 25-17, 24-26, 14-25, 25-18, 15-11.

Team captain Jaja Santiago led the team in the thriller with 19 points in 15 attacks, two blocks, and two service aces. The team’s converted setter in Jasmine Nabor also finished the game with an impressive 64 excellent sets record.

Although dealt with a loss, Toni Rose Basas scored a game-high 21 points for FEU.
