Pons, Lady Taramaws turn back fiesty Lady Warriors

MANILA — Bernadeth Pons saved the day for the FEU Lady Tamaraws.

The Lady Tamaraws won against the UE Lady Warriors in four sets, 25-18, 25-22, 25-27, 25-11.

FEU fired their attacks from various angles to test UE’s toughness all match long. The Lady Tamaraws also launched loaded serves that sent the floor defense of the Lady Warriors in disarray.

Pons tallied 17 points, along with 18 digs and nine receptions. Sophomore Jerrilli Malabanan also provided the much needed support with 15 markers.

UE skipper Shaya Adorador tried to rally her team with 12 points, but the abundance of errors committed by the Lady Warriors only worsen their case especially in the fourth set.

FEU will take on the NU Lady Bulldogs on Saturday, 4pm, while UE will shoot for their first victory on Wednesday, 2pm against the Ateneo Lady Eagles.
