San Beda wins clash over rival Letran

The San Beda Red Lions once again dominated the rivalry scene with an 81-74 win after a slow start at the first half against archenemy Letran, yesterday in San Juan.

Down by four in the fourth frame, 63-67, Letran slimmed the lead to two coming from Jeremiah Taladua’s freebies. And with only 4:30 ticks left, Javee Mocon passed to Benedict Adamos who converted the lead back to four, and Mocon added his own two with a lay-up, 71-65.

With a minute left, Mocon added another to Letran’s bleeding at 79-70, his 17th mark of the game.

San Beda go-to-shooter AC Soberano sealed the win with two free throws after a Rey Namabatac foul, ended with 16 points from 4-of-10 triple attempts.

Javee Mocon posted double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds while Robert Bolick led all players with 22 points with five assists and five rebounds.

The Red Lions stay at number two with a 4-1 win loss record, while Letran sank to the bottom at 1-3.
