GILAS Cadets flex muscles in 105 points rout of Timor Leste

SINGAPORE – The Gila Cadets secured its third straight win on Friday to advance to the semi-finals of the men’s basketball tournament in the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore.

The powerhouse team led by skipper Kiefer Ravena showed why they are heavily favoured to against newcomer Timor Leste in a lopsided victory, 126-21.

The team attacked from all sides of the court, but the hot outside shooting of their big men created a bigger margin separating the two teams.

This game showed the emergence of one of the late additions to the team, young Green Archer big man Prince Rivero, who top-scored for the Philippines with 24 points.

UST mainstay Kevin Ferrer tallied 19 points in the game, including several triples in the third quarter.

But despite the on-court rivalry of the players coming from different collegiate schools, they once again proved that this time they have a mission – to get the gold medal in the men’s basketball division for the Philippines.
