Tey Teodoro staged a breakout season-high performance of 25 points that hugely factored in the 75-60 Jose Rizal University win over Lyceum on Friday, in the NCAA Seaosn 91 Men’s Basketball Division at the FilOil Flying V Arena, San Juan.
Teodoro became a “silent detonating bomb” for Coach Vergel Meneses’ squad as the gunner blasted 20 of his overall points in the second half alone that lifted JRU to its third win in five outings.
The Heavy Bombers landed just a minimal damage to the Pirates onset of the first period with an 11-point lead, 21-10.
JRU looked to widen the gap midway in the second canto, yet Lyceum became slightly handful and stunned the Mandaluyong-based army to set the tally at 37-29, still in favor of JRU at the halftime.
But then, the Jose Rizal University dribblers were just starting to heat things up for the third period.
Lyceum strived to keep the deficit as close as possible to JRU, but its 8-point distance just stretched further when Tey Teodoro entered the searing scene equipped with unexpected bombs.
Teodoro opened the final quarter with his 16 deadly bombs that inflicted an insurmountable damage to the struggling Lyceum Pirates, who permanently stopped scoring as a result.
With the momentum firing up on their end, the Heavy Bombers never looked back and tallied their 15-point victory over the Pirates.
Meanwhile, Joseph Gabayni led with 15 points for the Lyceum Pirates who still remain on the cellar at 1-4.
